Julien Gosselin

Born in 1987, Julien Gosselin took classes at EPSAD, the drama school in Lille directed by Stuart Seide. He performed with Lucie Berelowitsch, Laurent Hatat and Tiphaine Raffier, and then worked as a director’s assistant for Pierre Foviau, Laurent Hatat and Stuart Seide. With six actors from his class at drama school, he set up the company called Si Vous Pouviez Lécher Mon Coeur in 2009, and directed Gênes 01 by Fausto Paravidino in 2010 at the Théâtre du Nord, a show than then went on tour. The following year, with the same company, he directed the French premiere of Tristesse Animal Noir by Anja Hilling at the Théâtre de Vanves; this performance toured in 2012. The same year he was invited by Vincent Baudriller to take part in the Kadmos programme. In July 2013 he presented Les Particules Elémentaires by Michel Houellebecq at the Avignon Festival—the third show by Si Vous Pouviez Lécher Mon Coeur. In 2014, he was invited by the Théâtre National de Bruxelles to present Je ne vous ai jamais aimés, a long musical poem based on a text by Pascal Bouaziz. Julien Gosselin is also a writer, and in November 2012 his book La Liste was published by 10/18. At the 2016 Avignon Festival, he presented 2666, based on the work of Roberto Bolaño. He has been associate director at the Théâtre National de Strasbourg since September 2014.
