Afro-dance, which brings together a wide range of dance styles from Africa and the diaspora, is practised by a broad community of dancers in Africa and across the world and has gone viral on the Net. 100% AFRO will bring together some of its leading representatives who will explore new ways of working and generate creative synergies between Africa and young people all over the world. The programme includes events, workshops and work-in-progress sessions with dancers from Marseille, dance lovers, students at dance schools, as well as a final collective performance. A platform and app, Afropolis, will make it possible to follow the event live and online (also online on the website of the Festival) and encourage people to think about how to use new technologies that provide an alternative to leading social media. An innovative project led by the Nigerian choreographer Qudus Onikeku, founder of The QDance Center in Lagos, a unique organisation in his country with which he launched danceGATHERING, which in turn led to 100% AFRO.
