Ayelen Parolin studied at the National Dance School and the San Martin Theatre in Buenos Aires. She followed the “Exerce” training programme in Montpellier and has danced for Mathilde Monnier, Mossoux-Bonte, Jean-François Peyret, Mauro Paccagnella, Louise Vanneste, Alexandra Bachzetsis, Anne Lopez and Riina Saastamoinen. Since 2004, Ayelen Parolin has developed a personal body of work, presenting several original pieces before focusing more precisely on womanhood and women: Exotic World, commissioned by the National Theatre and the SCAD, carte blanche for Ayelen and the filmmaker and former striptease artiste Sarah Moon Howe, and the solo La Esclava, co-written with, and performed by, Lisi Estaràs. At the Seoul Arts Center in July 2016, she presented her latest creation Nativos, a piece where she reactivates the choreographic material from one of her older performances and confronts it with Korean culture, in particular its strong Shamanic tradition. Ayelen Parolin is one of four artists to be awarded a research scholarship by the Pina Bausch Foundation in 2016, and in May 2017 she will be presenting her performance entitled Autoctonos at the Kunstendestivaldesarts in Brussels.

Ayelen Parolin is a choreographer and dancer. Exploring themes such as female group dynamics or the canonical clichés of masculinity, each of her creations focuses on a recurrent motif. She was born in Buenos Aires and now lives and works in Brussels.
