La Procession, Solo(s), Le Cercle… Nacera Belaza feels that her journey has been something of a straight line: driven by the same energy, her creations have a lot in common whilst revealing a new hitherto unknown space every time. She composes pieces combining professional dancers and young performers, exploring a new way of connecting individuals. Her investigations constantly question human nature, shifting from repetition to circularity and percussive movement while retaining a kind of pared-back density and intensity. As in the ritualised dance forms she finds so fascinating, where people involve their entire being in the performance, L’Onde unites the dancers in a state of almost hypnotic communion, helping them to take root and revealing new ways of perceiving dancing bodies. Vibrations spread from body to body like endless ripples.
