From voice notes to radio reports and from drawings to 2D animated documentary footage, Inside Kaboul is the result of a long creative process and a collective desire to bear witness. For several months Caroline Gillet talked to Raha, who stayed in Afghanistan and faces the violence of the regime, and Marwa, who lives in a refugee camp in Abu Dhabi. Inspired by their conversations and the sounds of the city where she was born, Kubra Khademi’s drawings take us on a journey to Kabul and show us the daily lives of young people and the uncertainties they face. What does the future hold when you’re 20 years old in Afghanistan?
