Now based in Marseille, the Israeli choreographer Emanuel Gat set up his own dance company in Tel Aviv in 2004. In the same year he staged Winter Voyage and his original interpretation of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, which won several awards. His career continued to bring him international success and he moved to France in 2007. His emblematic creations include The Goldlandbergs and Story Water in the courtyard of the Papal Palace at the Avignon Festival.
