Nivine Kallas

Nivine Kallas is a Lebanese actor and choreographer. Her work focuses on exploring the connections between the Arabic language and movement, as well as how the context in which they are expressed shapes them.

With a degree in drama from the Lebanese University of Fine Arts, she is a certified practitioner of the ORIANTHEATRE Paris Summer Academy and of the martial art of Wushu gun (Kung-fu staff). She has been training in various dance techniques since 2009.

She also collaborates with local and international artists. In 2021, she created Tarantism, a performance that addresses dance as a form of mania. In her new creation FāSL, she focuses on the connections between the diacritical marks of the Arabic language and the movement of the body, paying particular attention to the context in which these connections are expressed.
