Aina Alegre constantly reinvents the body as subject and material (the body-as-machine, the body-at-work, the mutant body), exploring rituals and social representations. In her previous shows she repeatedly pounded the ground; today she follows in the footsteps of these recurrent gestures as if in a memorial.
In R-A-U-X-A, she composes a hybrid form of dance through which her body, the light, the environment of colours and materials and electro-acoustic music enter a dialogue and build a landscape of the senses and an architecture of sound: a kind of timeless rhythmic journey where her body resonates with the space and the music, where throbbing vibrations from within emerge, diving into old, almost archaic collective memories. Variations and textures hypnotise us, causing strange sensations: an indefinable magnetism.
